As we approach the New Year, I'm determined to make blog posts more consistent in 2026.
In this regard, I'll be sharing a backlog of old notes, thoughts and critiques from exhibitions 2023 to current. I'm going to title this series of old notes : The Curatorial Backlogs. Postings in this series will come out every three weeks on Thursdays at noon starting January 1 and continuing until I run out of old exhibition reviews.
In addition to The Curatorial Notebook Backlogs, I'm hoping to have other posts coming out regularly as well. Here's the breakdown of what I'm thinking:
CURRENT exhibtion reviews from when I go to shows these days. The goals with these reviews will be that I'll make them with enough time for you to go see the exhibtions too!
Ceramic Postings: As a ceramic artist myself, and as someone who is taking on teaching a hand-building class this January, I want to start a conversation on this blog about clay. I'm still work-shopping what this series will be called. In it I'll discuss methods and techniques I'm going over in class, and things I'm researching, historical context in clay and cultural signifigance in the ceramic world as well.
A&A Curation & Curatorial Processing Insights. As I am half of A&A Curation, and we have spent the last two years putting up three pop-up shows and producing one journal with plans to do more of both in the future, I want to share more about the process, the struggles and the successes putting on shows and forging your own curatorial path. We'll talk about what it takes to do a DIY pop-up exhibit, how to find artists, coming up with themes and more. This segment, I'm hoping, will showcase guest writers and postings from the A&A Curation team and from others doing similar things. This series will be called The Curatorial Process.
I also plan on posting more in-progress posts from my own art-making process. These might be my thought breakdowns, or simply photos and video clips from my making.
Stay Tuned! I'm super excited to make this blog more conversational, and a space to learn and grow with you.
Let me know if there's any blog posts you're excited for, or any topics you're hoping I'll discuss.
